A Look Inside My Mural Process

Hiring a mural artist is a new experience for many of my clients. Whether you have a strong vision or just a blank wall and a feeling it could be doing more, my job is to guide you through the process and create something beautiful, lasting, and just right for your space.

I’m a big believer in “show and tell.” That means I don’t just explain how the process works—I show you. Below, you’ll find a visual flow chart that lays everything out step by step. But first, here’s what to expect when we work together:

Step 1: Let’s Talk

We start with a conversation about your wall, your goals, and your budget. I love visiting the space in person when possible, but virtual meetings work too.

Step 2: Estimate, Contract, and Design Fee

I’ll send a project estimate, a contract, and an invoice for the design fee. This fee covers the time it takes to create custom design mockups, so you can clearly see what your mural could look like before moving forward.

Step 3: Custom Design Options

I’ll send you two custom design options and a detailed quote, usually in about two weeks depending on my schedule, and I’ll keep you informed throughout the process. Each design is tailored to reflect your goals and the space’s unique features.

Step 4: Review and Refine

You choose the direction that feels right, and we make adjustments together as needed. Feedback and revisions are welcome. While we can talk by phone or email, final revision requests and approvals are confirmed in email for clarity.

Step 5: Schedule and Paint

Once the design is approved, I’ll send an invoice for half of the mural cost. This payment secures your painting start date and allows me to order any needed materials. Then the painting begins!

Step 6: Wrap-Up and Care

After your mural is complete, I’ll provide a simple care guide in case cleaning is ever needed. The final payment is due within two weeks of completion.

A beautiful mural starts with a smooth, simple process.
